Specifically engineered for the ArcGIS professional, PixPoint is a powerful digital image collection and management application. This extension tool automatically organizes digital pictures within a legacy geo-database, dramatically reducing costs and headaches. The ground-truthing characteristics of digital photographs enhance remotely-sensed satellite and aerial imagery used in ArcGIS.
*Note: PixPoint has not been tested with ESRI ArcGIS version 9.3.1. Recommended operating systems is Windows XP. Not compatible with Windows Vista. When using Windows 7, you must run software in the XP emulator.*
To enhance your GIS database with pictures, simply collect field data by taking photos using virtually any digital camera, and recording location using most any popular GPS receiver. It's an easy, cable-less, one-person operation. And because the simple push of a camera button captures image data while the GPS tracks raw location data, extensive training isn't required. Anyone can be a data collector and the subject matter expert can analyze and interpret the data later in the office.
Once the images are collected, the next step is downloading the data into PixPoint. PixPoint's SP? technology synchronizes each image with its location, then automatically geo-references the digital pictures for use within your GIS.
PixPoint inserts GPS information right into the metadata of the photo itself and merges those images directly into your geo-database-no data entry or modification of legacy database schema is required.
